From Data to Defence: How Crown Hosting Guards Against Cyber Risks

The rise and prevalence of cyberattacks is increasingly reported in today’s news, with such risks emerging from a wide variety of sources.

At Crown Hosting, we’re experienced in dealing with such threats and can offer varying types of protection for your data, information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).

At the recent Public Sector Cyber Security Conference 2025, I explored cyber risks themselves and explained the importance of having a reliable defence from such risks.

How can Crown Hosting help provide cyber security and protection against cyber warfare?

In the face of current trends, the public sector needs a high level of protection of its sensitive data, critical systems and infrastructure.

We at Crown Hosting can offer this protection in the following ways:

  • Redundancy – We use both redundant and diverse power to stay operational during outages, preventing downtime and ensuring data availability. Customers are encouraged to leverage the redundancy of their own IT systems by using different sites, ensuring diversification.
  • Compliance – We comply with strict data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR, PCI DSS and CTI to protect our customers data from cyber threats.
  • Network Security – We secure our networks with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs and encryption to protect data in transit and at rest from unauthorised access.
  • Expertise – We also employ a team of cybersecurity experts who are trained in the latest security technologies and best practices. They are responsible for monitoring our security systems, identifying potential threats and responding quickly to security incidents.

In addition to power, cooling, technical infrastructure, fire protection and monitoring, our facilities include a range of specialist features including RF, Acoustic and NPSA approved Blast, Ballistic and Physical Shielding, to protect and secure against electronic and physical attack.

Act now to improve your cyber protection

At the recent National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Annual Review, Richard Horne (CEO of NCSC) spoke about the widening gap between the rising pace of the cyber threat and the UK’s collective resilience in facing that threat.

With 429 incidents managed in the past year, half were deemed as nationally significant. We also saw a 50% rise in major attacks on the previous year.

While many defences do succeed, attackers are becoming more destructive.

Richard urges organisations to build resilience, plan for continuity and ensure leadership oversight of cyber risks. The NCSC supports this through initiatives such as the Cyber Action Toolkit, Cyber Essentials, and partnerships across sectors and nations, strengthening collective resilience against evolving digital threats.

Richard’s message is simple; the time to act is now.

Crown Hosting can help you protect your data.
